DONUT is an offshore evacuation system which involves the use of a portable personal safety device which provides a controlled decent from an offshore installation in the event of an emergency.

DONUT Basic User Emergency Escape training provides adequate knowledge of the DONUT offshore emergency decent system.
The course is a combination of theoretical and practical training.

Delegates completing a DONUT Basic User Emergency Escape training course will be able to;
- Understand the purpose of the DONUT system
- Use a DONUT personal safety device

A DONUT Basic User Emergency Escape training course includes;
- Hazards and legislation
- Pre-inspection checks
- Suitable anchor points
- Equipment
- Controlled descent, stop during descent and lock off
- Release from a rope
Prerequisites
There are no formal prerequisites for this training. However delegates must have a good understanding of verbal and written English language, and be physically fit and able to complete practical elements of the training which take place at height.
