The OPITO Combined HUET (with CA-EBS and Rebeather) course prepare delegates that intend to travel to and from offshore oil and gas installations and vessels by helicopter.

The course provides specific training in pre-flight and in-flight requirements, and to equips delegates with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills required in the event of a helicopter emergency – with specific focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.

Course Objectives

The objectives of the Combined HUET (with CA-EBS and Rebeather) training are to provide delegates with the skills to:

  • Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment, and follow procedures in preparing for, and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching

  • Helicopter emergencies
  • Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS)


Delegates MUST hold:

  • A valid Fit To Train certificate (mandatory from April 2018, evidence of which must be supplied before the course date)
