OPITO Combined BOSIET
Newcastle

This is a 3 day OPITO BOSIET training course in which delegates will gain a basic level of understanding and awareness of the hazards encountered when working on offshore installations, and of the safety regime and safety management systems in place to control and mitigate those hazards.

OPITO Combined FOET

This course which gives delegates the opportunity to practice and demonstrate emergency response skills which are not possible to practice during offshore drills, exercises and emergency training. I.e. Helicopter emergency escape, emergency first aid and basic firefighting & self-rescue.

STCW Personal Survival Techniques (PST) Update Training

STCW Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA)

The STCW Convention and Code as has been amended by the Manila amendments (2010) contains new requirements regarding security training. All personnel employed or engaged on board ships to which the ISPS Code applies, require this training.

The MCA Accredited STCW ISPS Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA) Course meets the knowledge, understanding and proficiency requirements set out in Regulation VI/6, paragraph 4 and Section A-VI/6, paragraphs 4 of the STCW  Convention and Code 1978, as amended. Approved by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA), it has been designed to give delegates an understanding of their various security awareness and understanding of the Ship Maritime Security Levels.

STCW Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD)

It does this by providing a standardised framework model of risk management that is internationally recognised. Designed during the fall out of the 9/11 attacks, it is implemented through XI-2 of the SOLAS (Safety Of Life At Sea) Convention and is mandatory for the 148 contracting governments who have signed up to this.

OPITO Combined HUET

The aim of the Combined HUET (with CA-EBS and Rebeather) programme is to prepare delegates that intend to travel to and from offshore oil and gas installations and vessels by helicopter by providing specific training in pre-flight and in-flight requirements and to equip delegates with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills required in the event of a helicopter emergency – with specific focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.

Shoulder Measurements

RUK/GWO Sea Survival/ (MST)Marine Safety Transfer Refresher

This refresher course is required for all personnel transferring to or from an offshore wind energy installation. Produced to maintain the basic skills and competence required to complete this transfer safely. Delegates completing this course will be deemed to have demonstrated the basic knowledge and competence to transfer to and from an installation in the wind energy industry.

STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR)

This training is intended to meet the requirements set out in Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code for training in personal safety and social responsibilities. The training forms part of the requirements for basic training for seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on board ship on the business of that ship as part of the ship’s complement with designated safety or pollution prevention duties in the operation of the ship. The training must be undertaken before new entrants are assigned to any such shipboard duties. The objective of the training is to give all persons intending to go to sea a basic induction in safety procedures and accident prevention and to familiarise them with the employment conditions and working environment on board merchant vessels.
