GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT) Merit Gap Training is part of the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) course portfolio, which sets the standards for training in the global wind energy and renewables industry.

Course Overview

GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT) has beome the standard for newly qualified technicians in the wind industry.

The training has become standardised to create a safer and more productive workforce, and allow employers to recognise the validity of training with greater certainty that the quality meets their own expectations.

GWO BTT Merit Gap Training allows delegates with other exisiting manufacturer certificates to validate their preexisitng training. PLEASE NOTE: If you do not have any preexisitng training, you can book GWO BTT at AIS Survivex >>

AIS Survivex will 'train the gap' and 'merit' an individual's training to GWO standard, supporting the industry's transition to GWO BTT.

The training covers electrical, mechanical and hydraulic elements with both practical and theoretical training.


Course Objectives

Delegates completing GWO BTT Merit Gap Training will be able to;

  • Adhere to the standard of the GWO BTT certificate

Course Content

GWO BTT Merit Gap Training includes;

  1. Verifying delegates’ past training
  2. Delivering gap training
  3. Uploading BTT training records to WINDA (GWO's system that allows employers to easily verify certificates)

PLEASE NOTE: The duration of GWO BTT Merit Gap Training depends on the gap. The GWO training standards consist of predefined lesson timetables and learning objectives. Delegates' training will be compared against the GWO standard using the GWO gap matrix.


Prerequisites

In order to complete GWO BTT Merit Gap Training, delegates must also:

  • Be WINDA registered before arriving for the course
