CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme Refresher (SMSTS-R)
The Site management safety training scheme (SMSTS-R) is a two-day refresher course designed for site managers, or aspiring site managers who need to refresh their certificate. It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up-to-date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The course provides an opportunity to revisit the wide range of topics from the previous five-day course.
Course Overview
The course covers relevant health, safety and environmental legislation affecting safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.
The SMSTS-R course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction managers.
Course Objectives
The course aims to help site managers to:
- Improve awareness of recent developments in construction, legislation and health, safety, welfare and environmental issues
- Identify measures that will assist the practical implementation of responsibilities established by new legislation and working practices
- Implement new guidance and industry best practice

Prerequisities
Delegates must hold a valid SMSTS certificate. Evidence must be provided.
