ITC Advanced First Aid and Incident Management

ITC Advanced First Aid and Incident Management is a comprehensive first aid training programme for those working in remote or offshore environments.

Delegates will learn key lifesaving skills in response to common emergencies and minor medical complaints.

The course includes advanced airway management using various airway adjuncts, the use of bag, valve and mask equipment, and oxygen resuscitation scenarios.

Delegates are given ample opportunity to practice the proper application of a wide range of skills. This is underpinned with an emphasis on scenario-based training such as a turbine tower, at height and in areas of restricted movement.


Course Objectives

Delegates completing an ITC Advanced First Aid and Incident Management training course will be able to;

  • Effectively administer advanced first aid techniques
  • Support a physical or virtual paramedic or doctor
  • Manage an incident which needs an advanced first aider in the absence or delay of urgent medical care

  16. Pelvic trauma
  17. Limb fractures – use of traction splints
  18. Head injury
  19. Spinal injury and immobilisation using cervical collars
  20. Eye injury
  21. Suffering from the effects of temperature extremes
  22. Crush injury
  23. Suspension Intolerance
  24. Stroke
  25. Heart Attack
  26. Anaphylaxis and simulation of epipen administration

Prerequisites

In order to complete an ITC Advanced First Aid and Incident Management training course, delegates must hold:

  • Valid and in-date GWO First Aid certificate
  • Valid and in-date GWO Working at Height certificate
