OPITO Combined HERTM and OERTM Training
OPITO have developed specialist emergency response standards to prepare helideck and emergency response teams for emergency situations on a offshore oil and gas platform or drilling rig.
OPITO Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM) and Offshore Emergency Response Team Member (OERTM) are essential certifications for all offshore emergency response team members.
Course Overview
This combined OPITO HERTM and OERTM training course is an intensive offshore firefighting and emergency response package including a wide variety of emergency scenarios.
The training provides the knowledge, understanding and skills to perform the role of a HERTM and OERTM safely and effectively.
Delegates will gain hands-on experience of emergency situations which could occur offshore including helideck and helicopter emergencies.
Course Objectives
Delegates completing a combined OPITO HERTM and OERTM training course will be able to;
- Fully understand the role and responsibilities of a HERTM and OERTM
- Safely and effectively respond to offshore firefighting and non-firefighting emergency scenarios including those involves a helideck and/or helicopter
Course Content
A combined OPITO HERTM and OERTM training course includes;
Prerequisites
In order to complete a combined OPITO HERTM and OERTM training course, delegates must hold:
- A valid and in-date OPITO Helideck Operations Initial Training (HOIT) certificate OR offshore helideck assistant (HDA) initial training certificate OR offshore helicopter landing officer (HLO) certificate
- A valid and in-date offshore medical certificate OR operator approved medical certificate
Delegates must also undergo medical screening by completing an appropriate medical screening form provided by the OPITO-approved centre (a list of medical conditions which could be included in a medical screening form is available from OPITO).
PLEASE NOTE: This course is delivered by Offshore Training Newcastle (OTN) at Newcastle International Airport Training Academy.
