The new Drilling Systems DrillSIM:Academy simulators will be offered to all AIS Survivex Drilling & Well Control Academy students undergoing their Level 3 or Level 4 IWCF Drilling Well Control course.

Our mission of Transforming Training with Technology extends to our Drilling and Well Control delegates who now get the chance to take home a portable laptop simulator while on course.

DrillSIM:Academy simulators use an instructorless Learning Management System (LMS) to guide delegates through exercises, ensuring they are fully prepared and confident prior to assessment. This is particularly beneficial for those with less experience, allowing even more opportunity to perfect their skills and learn at their own pace and boost their confidence prior to being assessed.

Did you know: using simulators can improve knowledge retention by as much as 75%?

First-time IWCF Level 3 delegate, Mike Stock, achieved an impressive pass with distinction – with a little help from DrillSIM:Academy.

Mike found the extra practice at home really helped his learning…

“The laptop with simulator training and practice exercises is a great idea. It made certain topics easy to understand on days I struggled to take everything in.”

Well Control and Drilling Team Lead, David Cormack, commented:

“At AIS Survivex, we always ensure that candidates on one of our drilling well control schools get plenty hands-on, instructor-led classroom simulator time, by providing multiple Drilling Systems simulators for use during our scheduled simulator sessions.

“We are now able to offer all candidates the chance to take a simulator away with them every night they are on one of our courses, should they wish to get some extra practice in to really hone their skills.”
