Employers from the wind industry are snapping-up delegates on a specialist blade repair course and offering them full-time jobs thanks to the high quality of the training.

The 10-day Advanced Blade Repair course, which is being offered by AIS Training in conjunction with Advanced Blade Repair Services, trains people how to repair large, deep defects in wind turbine blades. This is a highly specialised skill and very much in-demand from the fast-growing wind industry.

More than half of those on a recent course immediately scooped jobs with major wind industry employers.

Charlie Guthrie, marketing manager at AIS Training said: “The UK is at the forefront of the global wind industry and as an increasing number of wind farms enter operations and maintenance phases, blade repair skills are obviously high on the operators' agendas.

“AIS Training is now the world’s fourth largest training provider for the wind sector and with three training facilities across the UK, we're a popular choice for businesses and Individuals alike.

“Our specialised advanced course is for wind blade technicians who have more than six months experience in the role and is the only one in the UK which teaches extremely complex level 4 and 5 repairs. As a result, wind employers are coming to us directly to source potential advanced blade technicians from the course. Many of our delegates are then being snapped up and go on to secure full-time employment. This is fantastic testament to the high-quality training we are delivering through Advanced Blade Repairs.”
