Working at Height

AIS Training offer a number of Working at Height courses for those working in the Wind and Renewable Energy Industry's. These Working at Height and Rope Access courses are approved by industry bodies such as IRATA, Renewable UK and the Global Wind Organisation.

Advanced Working at Height and Rescue - Refresher

The course reviews the skills and techniques that have been covered in the AWAHR course and allows controlled safe practice with appropriate feedback, to improve performance.

Working at Height - Unit 7 Practical Management of Working at Height
Aberdeen, Newcastle

The course covers both Working at Heights Unit 2 PPE User & Working at Heights Unit 4 Management of Working at Height. 

It is designed for candidates who are actively involved in working at height and also management or supervisory roles to ensure compliance with working at height regulations.  It provides an outline of legislation, equipment standards, the process of a safe and systematic approach to working at height, detailed knowledge of application of hierarchy or risk, selection of working at height methods and work at height supervision. 

Training is given in the correct practical use of PPE along with a theoretical knowledge, intended purpose and as close as possible to the candidates work situation.

GOTCHA Rescue

The training has been developed in conjunction with Gotcha Rescue Equipment to provide employees and employers a safe, effective, and reliable method to perform a rescue of a colleague who has fallen for example on their fall arrest lanyards from a platform.

The Advanced Hub Rescue module is designed to provide personnel with the necessary specialist skills and knowledge that will enable them to react in an effective, safe and prompt manner to stabilise and rescue personnel incapacitated within various sections of the nacelle including the hub.

Skylotec Uplift Rescue
Grimsby, Newcastle

The purpose of this course is to teach a candidate how to rescue an injured person from the Transition Piece of an offshore wind turbine generator to yaw section with the final goal of lifting the casualty on to the helideck using advanced rescue techniques. The reason for this rescue technique is a scenario where helicopter rescue is the only option and the WTG is out of reach for boat cover. Rescue-Up is an add-on to the RUK/GWO Working at Height and Rescue Course.

Working at Height - Unit 4 Managers and Supervisors

The aim of this course is to provide those attending with a comprehensive understanding of site supervisor’s responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and its supporting regulations. In addition the course is developed to ensure delegates get a detailed knowledge of the application of the hierarchy of control and will demonstrate a selection of working at height techniques.  Delegates will also gain valuable knowledge in equipment standards, markings, pre-user inspection, documentation, traceability and how to dispose of equipment correctly.

City and Guilds - High Risk Confined Space

This High Risk course is for personnel nominated to work in or at Confined Spaces where work has been classified as high risk (NC4).

These spaces are primarily enclosed and are a potential hazardous working environment and where self contained breathing apparatus is required to be worn.
