STCW Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FPFF)

The training is part of the basic training required for seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on board ship on the business of that ship, as part of the ship’s complement, with designated safety or pollution prevention duties in the operation of the ship. This training provides an understanding of the nature and risk of fire, and expertise to respond effectively to extinguish fires, should they develop; enabling them to be competent when discovering a fire on-board, to take immediate action and respond to emergencies on board a vessel.
