Advanced Working at Height and Rescue Refresher reviews the skills and techniques taught in the initial training.

Delegates will safely performing rescues while working at height in a controlled environment.

Appropriate feedback will be given throughout the course to improve performance.


Course Objectives

Delegates completing an Advanced Working at Height and Rescue Refresher training course will be able to;

  • Demonstrate how to approach rescue situations in wind turbines
  • Demonstrate how the use of Rescue Kit used in helicopter rescue in WTG
  • Demonstrate proper use of the Cervical Collar
  • Demonstrate harnessing on an unconscious person
  • Demonstrate proper packaging of a casualty on a various stretchers in both horizontal and vertical positions
  • Demonstrate proper use of the 6:1 Pulley System
  • Demonstrate a safe and correct rescue from blade in WTG
  • Demonstrate a safe and correct rescue from a hub, (Company Specific) in a WTG
  • Demonstrate a safe and correct rescue from the internal tower
  • Demonstrate a safe and correct rescue of casualty inside the nacelle
  • Demonstrate a safe and correct rescue of a casualty out of reach outside the nacelle
  • Demonstrate  a safe and correct outside evacuation from a WTG
  • Demonstrate a safe and correct inside evacuation from a WTG
  • Demonstrate the correct use of a Rollgliss R350
  • Demonstrate the correct use of a Milan 029 – uplift

Course Content

An Advanced Working at Height and Rescue Refresher training course includes;

  1. Rescue kit 
  2. Hub, tower and rescue from blade 
  3. Rescue in nacelle and outside evacuation 
  4. Out of reach rescue
  5. Rescue from TP to nacelle using Milan 029 uplift rescue procedures
  6. Inside evacuation 
  7. Helicopter extraction
  8. Rollgliss R350 
  9. Examination

Prerequisites

In order to complete an Advanced Working at Height and Rescue Refresher training course, delegates must hold:

  • An Advanced Working at Height and Rescue certification which has not yet expired
