Course Overview
OPITO Control Room Operator (CRO) Emergency Response Competence Assessment and Coaching tests the emergency response skills of CROs.
Delegates will be assessed in a minimum of two emergency response scenarios. Each scenario is undertaken in a purpose-built simulator which replicates the main features of a control room on an offshore installation.
The emergency response of the CRO will be reviewed by Restrata instructors who will produce a written appraisal based on the delegate's performance.
Course Objectives
Delegates completing the OPITO Control Room Operator (CRO) Emergency Response Competence Assessment and Coaching will be able to;
- Demonstrate competency against the CRO emergency response standards
- Complete a minimum of two simulated scenarios
Course Content
The OPITO Control Room Operator (CRO) Emergency Response Competence Assessment and Coaching includes;
Theory
- CRO role and responsibilities during an emergency
- Introduction to emergency response
- Hazards
- Communications
- Emergency procedures and checklists
- Stress
Practical
- Introduction to the simulator equipment and software
- Delegates will be lead CRO during at least two simulated emergency scenarios which cover; threat to life, threat to installation and threat to the environment
Prerequisites
In order to complete the OPITO Control Room Operator (CRO) Emergency Response Competence Assessment and Coaching, delegates must have:
- A completed element 1.1 at the start of the assessment process which is filled in by the delegate attending and endorsed by their line manager
