We love supporting the next generation of energy sector talent so were delighted to welcome students from Newcastle College’s Energy Academy at our recent careers event.

35 students from the Academy visited the AIS Survivex Energy Sector Careers Event in Newcastle to gain valuable insight into working in the global wind sector.

The students, who are currently in their final year of studying for an NVQ level three qualification in renewables engineering, are all looking to make that next important step into a renewables career.

Energy Academy Programme Leader, Diane Cleves, said:

“Our students are passionate about getting into renewables and this event was the perfect opportunity for them to find out more. There were lots of industry experts, employers and recruitment specialists on hand for the students to talk to face-to-face and address any queries they had.

“Being new to the energy industry and the jobs market means it’s important for students to understand any mandatory industry training required and the routes to potential job roles that might interest them. The event provided them with lots of information to make their next important career decisions.”

Linzi Ryan, Head of Marketing at AIS Survivex said:

“Our careers events have been an overwhelming success - helping to connect high-quality potential candidates with recruiting companies from both the wind and oil and gas energy sectors. It was great to see Newcastle College students from the Energy Academy here and we are delighted to have helped inspire the talented engineers of tomorrow in their energy sector careers.”
