"Finally I'm in the role I've always wanted with a world-leading company!"

Aberdeen-born Zander Simpson always dreamed of becoming a mechanical engineer with a global oil and gas leader – now the dream’s a reality after he secured a full-time job with Technip FMC as a mechanical technician.

After leaving school, Zander knew he wanted to work in the oil and gas industry as a mechanical engineer and secured an apprenticeship. Zander spent the next six years gaining valuable experience in both on and offshore positions.

But his ultimate goal was always to work with one of the world’s leading oil and gas companies and, after successfully completing his mandatory OPITO offshore survival training with Survivex, managed to land a position with global oil and gas service giant, Technip FMC.

Now Zander is using his existing skills onshore but is ready to mobilise offshore at a moment’s notice thanks to his full OPITO certification achieved with Survivex.

He said: “After years of hard work I’ve finally landed my perfect role with Technip FMC. Working for a global company means I have the potential opportunity to work all over the world and a fantastic, supportive environment to develop my skills. The training at Survivex was excellent. Fantastic facilities and extremely knowledgeable and professional instructors. For anyone looking to develop their career- I thoroughly recommend them.”
