Following the introduction of two new Global Wind Organisation (GWO) training standards last month, AIS Training is adding GWO Enhanced First Aid (EFA) to its extensive course portfolio.

Delegates working on wind turbines can now build on existing GWO basic first aid certifications with potentially life-saving training. The course is designed to produce technicians with skills to stabilise a casualty if a life-threatening incident or injury should occur.

Having invested heavily in its first aid team, AIS Training, which is part of 3T Energy Group, has the facilities and instructors to effectively deliver EFA.

The offshore training providers’ lead first aid instructor, Marion Williams helped to shape the course during its development, after GWO selected AIS Training to provide guidance from a training perspective.

Marion said: “It was a huge honour to contribute to the development of a training course, which will not only help to improve the consistency and quality of first-aid training for wind personnel but raise safety standards across the sector. These men and women are working in dangerous environments and it’s crucial we provide them with the right knowledge and skills to save a life.

“I personally have over 23 years of paramedic experience and I believe I can use this expertise to bring this enhanced training to life and improve our delegates’ training experience at our facilities or on-site worldwide.”
