The National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) has announced a funding scheme to help its members meet the latest CISRS CPD requirement and AIS Training is urging North East scaffolding companies not to miss out.

In July 2017 a new requirement was introduced for scaffolders and advanced scaffolders to complete the CISRS 2-day CPD course. To encourage companies to meet this requirement, NASC has set aside a sum of £30,000 to subsidise training costs, capped at £125 per employee. A further £20,000 has been ring-fenced by NASC should demand be there for it. This funding is currently available to businesses on a first-come, first-served basis to help support their employees through the CPD process.

In addition to the NASC funding, all UK scaffolding contractors who currently pay the CITB levy, are eligible to apply for a grant based on any employee’s attendance on a short duration course, as long as training is completed within 29 days. The grant value is dependent on the length of the course and is available to both NASC members and non NASC members.

Paul Attrill, Training and Education Director at AIS, said: “The number of people trained as scaffolders has risen year on year, helping to keep pace with continuous demand in the market for skilled scaffolders. We believe this funding will encourage more training and help with the transition of the new CPD course. We would urge any scaffolding companies to get in touch with us to find out how to access these funds and benefit from the training on offer.”

Following £1m of investment in our scaffolding training provision, AIS Training can deliver every course needed by those working in the scaffolding industry, including the full suite of CISRS scaffolding courses from basic through to advanced qualifications and inspections.
