AIS Training’s state-of-the-art Aberdeen training centre has been approved to deliver the much sought-after OPITO Stage 3 & 4 Rigger Competence Assessment.

The qualification is designed for all rigging and lifting personnel who need to show they are competent to work in the rigger role onshore and offshore safely and effectively.

Taking up to two days to complete, the course includes both a practical assessment and theory test which the delegate needs to successfully complete to achieve the qualification. It is the latest OPITO accreditation in a long line of industry-approved course qualifications which AIS Training’s Aberdeen centre has been successfully audited to offer. As well as the OPITO Stage 3 & 4 Rigger Competence Assessment, AIS Training in Aberdeen can deliver the OPITO Banksman and Slinger Competence Standard, IRATA Rope Access, Working at Height and Confined Spaces Courses, amongst many others.

Nikki Michie, AIS Aberdeen Centre Manager said: “We are delighted to receive OPITO’s highly-coveted approval at our new Aberdeen training centre. This is testament to the high quality of the training provision and bespoke facilities we have on offer. Significant investment in new facilities in Aberdeen complements our other UK locations in Grimsby and Newcastle, providing our clients with greater choice.’’

AIS Training has invested more than £1m into the centre, which includes a range of specially constructed working at height and renewables platforms, confined spaces, rigging and lifting structures, as well as scaffolding and industrial plant and fabric maintenance training areas. These simulate industrial environments and give delegates an extremely realistic learning experience, better preparing them for working in the field.
