Trainees to benefit from latest blasting and painting technology

Industrial training specialist, AIS Training has linked up with one of the world’s leading spray equipment manufacturers to give its delegates the chance to use the very latest technology when training to shot-blast and paint.

AIS Training has installed new additional spray units supplied by WIWA. A passive fire protection (PFP) machine and an Airless 270 have been added to the fleet, along with a new Blast Pot kit from Airblast Eurospray, within its 10,000-square foot state-of-the-art fabrication maintenance training centre where trainees learn how to prepare, paint and blast industrial structures within specialised environmentally controlled blasting and painting booths.

Both skills are required in most sectors of manufacturing and corrosion management and are particularly used in marine, wind power and offshore oil and gas installations.

WIWA supplied the equipment to AIS Training to give delegates the chance to learn blasting and spraying skills using the very latest technology. As well as being extremely easy to use and maintain, the equipment gives the highest level of professional finish.

Paul Attrill, Director of Training and Education at AIS Training, said: “Every year we train more than 25,000 delegates from all over the globe in specialised skills for the oil and gas, wind, maritime and industrial sectors. For us the quality of our training experience is paramount and we invest heavily in our facilities and equipment to ensure delegates receive the very best skills training available. WIWA is world-recognised as one of the leaders in its field and this specialist equipment will give our blaster and painter delegates unrivalled experience of using the latest advanced technologies. We are delighted to be working with them.”

Ken Upchurch from WIWA said: “We have worked with AIS for several years on a number of projects relating to specialist passive fire protection services and training. Our companies share the same ethos for high quality and exceptional customer service so we were keen to supply our next generation shot blasting and coatings application equipment to AIS Training to train delegates. We are confident that delegates will find the equipment extremely easy to use and the skills they learn at AIS Training will help them in their future careers.”
