Employers from both the oil and gas and wind industries are hot-footing it to North Tyneside to identify future potential talent.

Companies including global oil and gas service company, Altrad, and wind service specialist, CPower Energy, will attend a special recruitment event at leading energy trainer, AIS Training, to look for potential employees for upcoming projects.

The drop-in style event will take place between 11am and 7pm on Thursday 30th January at AIS Training’s state-of-the-art, 20-acre training village in North Shields. As well as showcasing the types of careers available in the global energy sector, the event will offer CV and interview tips and includes leading employers and recruitment firms to talk about future job opportunities.

Employers are looking for a wide range of individuals from highly experienced wind technicians to mechanical fitters, welders, riggers, chemical cleaners and industrial scaffolders and more.

Charlie Guthrie, Marketing Manager at AIS Training, said: “People use the start of the year as a time to reflect on things they want to change for the better and we want to help those looking for a new career or different job. 2020 is set to be an exciting year for the global energy sector and there are lots of potential opportunities around. Many of our oil and gas clients are starting to get really busy and the wind sector is gearing up for some major projects such as Dogger Bank off the North East coast.

“Hopefully our event will inspire people and give them an insight into what it’s like working in the energy industry, as well as helping put employers and potential candidates together. We urge anyone interested in the event to sign up quickly as we anticipate high demand.”
