OPITO Digital-Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (D-BOSIET) with CA-EBS provides an understanding and awareness of the hazards encountered when working on offshore installations.

This digital version of BOSIET uses a blended learning approach by combining e-learning at home with practical training in the centre.

Delegates will gain an understanding of the Norwegian Escape Chute system and practice using it as a tertiary means of escape.

Delegates will learn the particular hazards and properties of a CA-EBS.

S-Cape is an evacuation system which is in place on some offshore installations.

Delegates will be provided with the skills and knowledge to use the S-Cape system.

All personnel who travel by helicopter to an offshore installation are required to have their shoulders formally measured by a specially trained person.

Anyone who hasn’t had their shoulder width measured will be classified automatically as Extra Broad (XBR). This restricts the seats you’re permitted to sit in and therefore can mean that you won’t be allowed on certain flights.
