ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity (MJI10, MJI18 & MJI19)

ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity is stage one of the four stage ECITB MJI training standards validating skills in the specialist critial bolting area. 

These training standards cover isolations, dismantling techniques, inspection of components, alignment techniques and clamp connectors as well as assembly and tightening techniques in specialist critical bolting.


Course Overview

This ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity course is a combination of MJI10, MJI18 & MJI19 which concentrate on the skills to perform various MJI techniques using a range of equipment.

Delegates will gain the skils required to dismantle, inspect, prepare, assemble and tighten flanged and clamp connector pipe joints and bolted connections using:

The training is delivered by experienced instructors who are time served in a mechanical discipline and have worked as hands-on technicians/supervisors in the mechanical joint integrity industry.

ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity includes all aspects of hazards, health and safety, guidance and practical exercises about safe use and good working practices.


Course Objectives

Delegates completing an ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity (MJI10, MJI18 & MJI19) training course will be able to;

  • Have the knowledge to ensure intended tasks conform to related specification, methods, process, techniques and procedures
  • Have to knowledge of dismantling techniques, inspection of components, alignment techniques and clamp connectors as well as assembly and tightening techniques in specialist critical bolting

Course Content

An ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity (MJI10, MJI18 & MJI19) training course includes;

  1. Safety Induction
  2. MJI10: Hand Torque Bolted Connection Techniques
  3. MJI18: Hydraulic Tension Bolted Connection Techniques
  4. MJI19: Hydraulic Torque Bolted Connection Techniques

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity (MJI10, MJI18 & MJI19), however ECITB MJI10 must be completed before MJI19 can be completed.
