Sterling Pharma Embarks on Tailored Training Programme to Boost Performance

Cramlington-based pharmaceutical ingredients manufacturer, Sterling Pharma Solutions is investing in a training programme with AIS Training to improve the safety and competency of its engineers and boost performance.

The programme will see 30 engineers from Sterling undergoing extensive training in mandatory safety skills such as harness safety, ladder inspection, abrasive wheels and manual handling at AIS Training’s state-of-the-art 20-acre industrial training village in North Shields.

All of the training will be tailored to Sterling’s working environments and practices for realism and to maximise effectiveness. Sterling Pharma Solutions, which develops and manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients for healthcare companies, is set to grow its reputation further on the global stage following a management buy-out last year.

Chris Wiper, Training Manager at Sterling Pharma Solutions said: “We operate in a highly regulated environment and investing in our workforce to ensure they are highly-skilled and safe is our highest priority.

“Processing at our plant takes place 24 hrs/day, 365 days a year and one of the challenges we face is ensuring we maximise our effectiveness ensuring customer satisfaction. With AIS Training’s highly flexible approach to booking and delivering courses, as well as its location right on our doorstep, the logistics of organising courses has been extremely easy.
